This week I found a wealth of ideas in many of the classrooms I visited. Here are a few snapshots that I thought would be great to share with you.

Talk Time
This came from Kaelin Kirby's 5th grade classroom at Winsor Hill. She uses this for a student who tends to frequently shout out. This is fixed to the side of his desk. He gets to answer/ask a question 5 times in the morning and then again in the afternoon. As he does so, he places one popsicle stick in the envelop until all 5 are used for that session (morning or afternoon).

Dojo Rewards
This is how Allie Santos, a 2nd grade teacher at SD Barnes rewards her students at the end of each week. They "cash in" their points each Friday and take advantage of these prizes.

Parent Magnets
Another great resource from Allie Santos. In an effort to encourage parent communication, she created this magnet from Vista Print and handed them out to parents during Open House.

Me and My Family
Jen Pavao, a kindergarten teachers at SD Barnes displayed her students' work of art, as she began the kindergarten community unit. Students had to reflect on their family community and create family portraits.
