Two great things caught my attention in April Marroquin's 3rd grade classroom this week.
One
What a terrific way for students to store their biography books. April purchased these "aprons" from Home Depot and then painted the student's class number over the Home Depot logo. A very inexpensive storage bin!
Two
Students read 2 different prose for Rosa Parks - A poem and an article.
They compared/contrasted the structure and content of both. What a great way to cement students' understanding of a positive role model's contribution to American history!
Great way to manage classroom organization and transitions throughout the day! I really like the use of two different types of text/literature being used to relay biographical information to students to test their meta-cognitive skills.
