Second Graders Need Help Finding Their Gingerbread Men!

Second graders in Kerri Yekelchik and Dina Needham's classroom are truly becoming descriptive writers! 

Kerri and Dina first had students decorate their own unique gingerbread man complete with sparkles, glitter and pompons!

Students then had to go through the writing process to create a descriptive paragraph  explaining the features and attributes of their "lost" gingerbread. This would allow their peers to listen to the writing and then "find" where their "runaway" actually is!

Look at the writing that is happening in this classroom! They have taken the Grade 2 Writing Unit and incorporated those same skills into creative, engaging activities that allow their students to shine!
