Great Online Site for Responding to Text

As we are all trying to improve our students' written response to text, I thought I would share an additional online site for finding grade level reading passages called Commonlit.com. It does offer free resources for grades 3-12.

What I found most help is that you can assign a "Guided Reading Mode" in which "students will be prompted to answer guided comprehension questions as they read (after every few paragraphs). The text is revealed as students answer questions correctly and multiple attempts are allowed." These questions are not scored. I took a screen shot of a passage and included it below. The questions that are scored, are common core aligned and are great practice for RICAS. Thanks to Rosemary Petrucci, I decided that this Blog should also be used to share relevant, practical resources that you can immediately use in your classroom.
